Nouveau Systems® Releases Multi-Edition Offerings, Free Personal Edition at LinuxWorld

Editions Boast New Personal, Workgroup, Department Functionality

San Francisco, Calif. - August 7, 2007 - Nouveau Systems today announced the immediate availablity of new multi-edition versions of its entire product line. The Nouveau Alliance Collaboration Suite, including collaboration platform and application products, are now available in three editions. Personal Edition is aimed at individual desktop users, while Professional Edition is aimed at workgroups, and Department Edition is for department-wide deployment. The company also announced that all Personal Edition products are available free for non-commercial use with no registration required.

"People won't waste time learning products that stop working after 30 days or require detailed registration," said Philip Gust, President and CEO of Nouveau Systems. "We really want people to invest in learning our products, so we offer fully functional Personal Editions free. We're confident that once people try them, they'll want to deploy our products within their organization."

The Nouveau Alliance Collaboration Platform is light-weight enough to run on an individual user's machine, yet scalable enough to deploy on a department system and host larger numbers of users. It's "Intelligent P2P" technology automatically "discovers" new servers and adds them to the collaboration grid. Users can transparently shrare resources, and collaborate asynchronously and in real time throughout the grid.

The platform hosts core services such as collaboration, messaging, naming, database, and object management. Extended services, including content management and workfow automation, are available as separate products. It also hosts collaboration-enabled applications such as FlowSpace Workflow Developer and NoteSpace Collaborative Notebook. Users can create their own rich client applications, or web-based applications using the integrated web server and servlet engine.

"Nouveau Alliance Collaboration Platform is ideal for creating and deploying collaboration-enabled solutions for capturing and managing information, processes, and tacit knowledge within local and distributed organizations." according to Mr.Gust.

The latest version includes a new Universal Scripting Framework. Users can now extend the platform in over a dozen languages, including Java, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby, and Python, as well as VBScript on Microsoft Windows, and AppleScript on Mac OS X. A new RDBMS integration framework enables storing and retrieving information from any commercial RDBMS within a workflow. DerbyDB, a full-functioned RDBMS is pre-integrated and ready to use at no additional cost. Finally, the Department Edition includes WebStart, a unique technology that enables users to launch platform-hosted applications, such as FlowSpace and NoteSpace, directly from their web browsers. WebStart completely eliminates the overhead of deploying applications to each desktop.

The entire line of Nouveau Alliance collaboration products are available now on a wide range of systems, including Windows 2000/XP/Vista, Linux, Mac OS X, Solaris, HP/UX, and AIX.
